U.S. Legal Market Analysis
Legal Resource Group has created The U.S. Legal Market Analysis, the first comprehensive analysis of legal markets in the United States. The more than 900 page analysis covers the legal markets in all 50 states, both individually and by dividing the country into six regions within which legal work flows to capital markets. Within each state is an analysis of major metropolitan areas, including the 44 cities that have legal markets greater than $1 billion. Overall there are more than 750 charts and graphics.
| The U.S. Legal Market Analysis is the most valuable source of competitive intelligence on American legal markets ever created. |
Each state and metro area contains six sections:
- An overview of significant demographic features including the size, education and ethnicity of the workforce, and an analysis of the in- or out-migration of population.
- A detailed economic analysis including the cost of doing business, business friendliness, gross domestic product growth, largest employers, largest industries and factors influencing the current economy and its recovery. This is specifically written to cut through economic jargon and focus on the issues that influence the success of local businesses and their ability to generate legal work.
- A candid and precise forecast of the local business climate in the short and intermediate term.
- A SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis for the marketplace.
- An analysis of the competitive situation in each marketplace, based on the size and recognition of each firm for their capabilities and quality, shown in an understandable graphic format.
- A description of the market position of each individual firm including its size, both locally and overall, and its competitive strengths and weaknesses. These analyses include firms that are headquartered locally and the branch offices of firms headquartered elsewhere.
Today, more than ever, competitive intelligence is essential to all growing law firms. The phrase “think globally, act locally” is rapidly becoming the strategy of the world’s most effective and profitable law firms. Regardless of a firm’s size or sophistication of practice, the basic nature of legal practice is defined by geographic markets. Markets determine what laws apply, where transactions or adjudications occur and which law firms are hired.
Legal markets are local and success is determined by understanding the economic forces and competitive forces in play – in short, how much work will be available and what law firms are best situated to do it. This permits firms to plan where offices should be, how large they need to be and the practice areas that present the greatest potential for profitable growth.
The U.S. Legal Market Analysis is in PDF format with a copyright license that allows purchasing firms unlimited duplication rights for use within their firms. Through the purchase of one copy, firms can provide access to all firm leaders, management members, practice group chairs, marketing staff and any other partner or employee of the firm.
Also Included:
